12v LED Drivers
The majority of LED lighting is low voltage, this makes the lighting much safer but slightly more difficult to install as you require a way to drop the voltage from 240v – 12v.
A few examples of LED bulbs which operate at low voltage would be MR16 LED Bulbs, MR11 LED Bulbs, G4 LED Bulbs, etc. Whilst we have a wide range of halogen equivalents which will save you both energy and money, it can occasionally be troublesome to convert to LED.
Occasionally existing low voltage lighting transformers don’t function correctly with LED bulbs and an up to date LED driver is required. A common factor when the transformer isn’t compatible with LED bulbs would be flickering or a low level of light output…
If you are experiencing any of the above then our LED drivers are ideal for you. We have LED drivers rated from 6W – 18W which will cater for any type of low voltage bulb.
Converting to GU10 LED Bulbs
Occasionally customers experience compatibility issues as mentioned above but are unable to access the older transformers to update them to LED drivers. If you fall into this bracket then the only solution, should you wish to change to LED bulbs would be to convert you existing fittings to GU10.
This sounds a lot more daunting than it is, with our GU10 fly leads / ceramic holders you can simply disconnect the older transformer and take the mains wires directly to the new GU10 holders.
Once converted to GU10, you should be able to put new LED bulbs into your existing fittings and start to see the benefit of the changeover on your energy bills.
